Team of the 2010s

Post by Raider47 » January 6, 2018, 10:54 am

Seeing as though it is off season, thought I'd pose a pretty insipid question: what's our best team in the last 8 years? 2010 onwards...

1. Jed Bogan
2. Wighton
3. Croker
4. Ferguson
5. Rapana
6. Austin
7. Williams
8. Paulo
9. Hodgson
10. Shillington
11. Papalii
12. Whitehead
13. Fensom

14. Milford
15. J.Thompson
16. Vaughan
17. Boyd

Honourable mentions: Earl, Cotric, Leilua, Learoyd-Lahrs, White and Soliola
"It's always been Canberra, I love playing for the Raiders"- Jarrod Croker
"We’re all really excited about what’s going on here at the Raiders"- Blake Austin
"I’m very happy to have signed this extension and I love playing footy in Canberra"- Jack Wighton
"I’ve been in Canberra for a while now and it’s become a home for me"- Josh Papalii
"“The ultimate goal is to win a premiership and get Canberra back on the pedestal they belong."- Sia Soliola
"The club was eager for me to stay and I was eager to stay as well because I love it here in Canberra."- Josh Hodgson

2010 Campo was still excellent, he did more in 2010 than Austin has. Think most of the rest of the team is fine, but 2010 Campo > 2015-2017 Austin IMO

If you did an NRL team of the 2010s would we have any players in the the first team or second team? and you could include the douche bags that played for us

If you're picking players in position i'd argue Papa would make the second team, at least on the Bench. I'd have Rapana there in the second team, arguably first, but I doubt the media would. Dugan would make it and maybe Fergo but not based just on performances for us.

If you're picking players out of position as they usually do and included Origin performances I'd say we wouldn't.

going by position only, logical thinking not NSW origin thinking
if someone thinks Dugan is a better centre than any other actual centre id be suprised

Yeah, that's a fair call. I still reckon his best club football was at fullback for us. He would 100% make the media teams out of position though.

Edit*

I had a crack at a couple of teams
A: Slater, Radradra, Inglis, Lyon, Uate, Maloney, Thurston, Graham, Smith, Scott, Cordner, Lewis, Lolo
Bench: Farah, Bromwhich, Burgess, Fifita

B: Darius, Mansour, Hodges, Morris, Rapana, Bunji, Cronk, JWH, Ennis, Tamou, Thaiday, Scott, Gallen
Bench: Hayne, Papalii, Klemmer, Myles

I stuck to their positions and no rep influence. I think Rapana makes it since other than Radradra no wingers have really been outstanding for an extended period. I mean I put Uate in the first teams since he was winger of the year 3 times but he was also really awful for a long time and no other wingers have had 3 really awesome seasons in a row yet. Maybe Brett Morris but he is rather overrated imo.

FTR here would be my team with rep and positional changes allowed:
Slater, Radradra, Inglis, Lyon, Hayne, Thurston, Cronk, Scott, Smith, Gallen, Cordner, Burgess, Lolo
Bench: Morgan, Fifita, Graham, Lewis
